Day Center

THE DAY CENTER:

Should be within a 30 minute drive of the Host Congregations
Must have dedicated space that is set aside exclusively for the use of Network Director and families only.

Must have the following:

  • Lounge area with chairs, sofa, table, crib, playpen
  • Access to rest rooms
  • Access to telephone
  • Proximity to public transportation
  • Showers

These are welcome extras at the day center:

  • Social Services
  • Child care
  • After-school programs
  • Kitchen facilities
  • Washing machines and dryers

Staff

The day center must be supervised when guests are present, between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The Network Director will work from the day center and will provide most of the coverage.

Many networks use a combination of volunteers, paid hourly staff and student interns to supervise the center when the Network Director is away.

Some Networks cover the early morning by hiring the van drive to stay until 8:30 a.m., when the Network director arrives.
