ABOUT

FAMILY PROMISE

Family Promise of Clear Creek is one of more than 200 nationwide affiliates helping families who are trying desperately to help themselves.  We offer a community-based response to family homelessness.  By partnering with the faith, school, and business communities, we provide a holistic program empowering families to become stable and achieve lasting independence.  We transform lives.

In America, more than 2.5 million families will experience homelessness each year. We fight family homelessness by providing shelter, financial training and assistance, case management and support to children and their parents. We do this though a vast network of volunteers, congregations, and business partners in the greater Clear Creek area. Contact us at info@ccfamilypromise.org or at 832-932-3963 to help end homelessness today.

HOMELESSNESS

IN OUR COUNTRY

Homelessness can take many forms, with people living on the streets, in encampments or shelters, in transitional housing programs, or doubled up with family and friends. While the federal government reports 1.5 million people a year experience homelessness, other estimates find up to twice this number of people are actually without housing in any given year. The most striking disparity can be found among African Americans, who represent 13 percent of the general population but account for 37 percent of people experiencing homelessness and more than 49 percent of homeless families with children. This imbalance has not improved over time.

NATIONAL

ORGANIZATION

Family Promise is comprised of more than 200 affiliates nationwide operating in 43 states.  In 2022, approximately 241,000 people were served and 44,000 homeless incidents were prevented.  Of the families who enter the Family Promise system, more than 78% graduate to stable housing.

In 2022, Family Promise received a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, the world’s largest and most trusted non-profit evaluator.  For the 9th consecutive year, Family Promise scored 100% in the Charity Navigator ranking. This is an organization you can give to with confidence, knowing your contribution will be used in a responsible manner. You can learn more about the national organization by viewing the history section of this website.
