FAMILY PROMISE OF CLEAR CREEK

ABOUT

US

Family Promise of Clear Creek is one of more than 200 nationwide affiliates helping families who are trying desperately to help themselves. We are a community-based response to family homelessness that partners with the faith, school, and business communities in order to help families achieve lasting independence. In short, we transform lives.

We provide wrap-around services to children and their parents who qualify for our program. We do this through a vast network of volunteers, congregations, and business partners in the greater Clear Creek area. Our laser focus and motivated clientele is what makes us successful.

WHAT OTHERS

ARE SAYING

THE STATE OF

HOMELESSNESS

Homelessness can take many forms, with people living on the streets, in shelters or transitional housing programs, or just doubled up with family and friends. While the federal government reports 1.5 million people a year experience homelessness, other estimates find up to twice this number of people are actually without housing in any given year. The most striking disparity can be found among African Americans, who represent 13 percent of the general population but account for 37 percent of people experiencing homelessness and more than 49 percent of homeless families with children.

In the broader Clear Creek area, hundreds of children and their parents are experiencing homelessness. CCISD alone reported 1086 such students in the 2022-2023 school year. Family Promise of Clear Creek operates in the CCISD area as well as in Friendswood and parts of Alvin and Pearland. We strive to end family homelessness in these areas.
